It's been a bad day for collegiate quarterbacks. Earlier, we reported that Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen is under investigation for underage drinking. Now, we learn that Kentucky Wildcats QB Curtis Pulley has been kicked off the team for violating team rules.
Head coach Rich Brooks made the announcement during the Wildcats' preseason media day. While Pulley was already walking a tight rope with traffic and marijuana possession charges accrued over the summer, he was believed to have a shot at the starting job - providing he could keep a clean sheet. He didn't, and the job will now likely fall to sophomore Mike Hartline, who was competing with Pulley to replace graduated Andre Woodson.
Who will win the 2009 BCS National Championship? Can Kentucky turn the trick without Pulley at the helm? Currently, the Wildcats are 100/1 to win it all - get all your football futures betting in the Bodog Sportsbook today!
