And the odds are on the move: No. 2 Michigan State was a 4.5-point underdog at press time against No. 1 Connecticut, up from four points. No. 3 Villanova remains a 7.5-point puppy versus No. 1 North Carolina in Saturday’s nightcap.

Here are the NCAA championship odds on the futures market:

North Carolina Tar Heels: 20-27
Connecticut Huskies: 51-20
Michigan State Spartans: 123-20
Villanova Wildcats: 133-20

You can tell by the microtuning of the odds (not 5-2 for UConn, but 51-20) that business on the March Madness front is booming. From a value standpoint, MSU has less resistance in its path to the title than Villanova and a stronger team on paper. But Connecticut is even tastier at more than three times the payout of North Carolina.
