It's about time Seattle did something.

The Mariners, suffering through a disastrous season that has already seen coach John McLaren and GM Bill Bavasi fired, have finally moved some of their players by trading situational reliever Arthur Rhodes to the Marlins for minor-league prospect Gaby Hernandez.

Rhodes, 38, has had some success this year going 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA. Prior to Wednesday night's game where he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes, Rhodes had pitched 18 consecutive innings of scoreless baseball.

Hernandez was a third round pick of the New York Mets in the 2004 MLB Entry Draft. He's projected to be a middle-of-the-rotation starter with the M's.
