Michael Phelps, Katie Hoff Look For Gold Tonight

Projected by many to contend for eight gold medals this summer, is American swimmer Michael Phelps. Tonight, the 23-year-old will battle for his first in the men's 400m individual medley.

After coasting through the preliminaries with an Olympic record of 4:07.82, Phelps will look to take on fellow American Ryan Lochte and Hungarian contender Laszlo Cseh.

The final is scheduled to be held at 10 p.m. EST.


Also pursuing gold tonight in the 400m individual medley is American Katie Hoff matched up against Australian superswimmer Stephanie Rice.
