The biggest news in baseball today came out of Cleveland as the struggling Indians have shipped out reigning Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia to the Milwaukee Brewers.

In exchange for the left-hander the Indians secure standout AA prospect Matt LaPorta and others to be named later.

Sabathia, who went 19-7 last season is just 6-8 so far and the Brewers wanted to finalize the deal in time to have him make two starting appearances prior to the July 15th All-Star Game.

Elsewhere in the Major Leagues, an epidemic of extra innings broke out as it took the Atlanta Braves 17 innings to surpass the Houston Astros 7-6.

The Detroit Tigers topped the Seattle Mariners 2-1 in 15 innings and the New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in 12.
