Coming off a triumphant return from his first trip to the disabled list, Ichiro Suzuki looks to lead the Seattle Mariners to their seventh straight win as they wrap up a three-game set with the Los Angeles Angels tonight.
The Angels were scheduled to face Ryan Rowland-Smith, but he was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to triceps tendinitis. Rookie Chris Jakubauskas will make his first major-league start after two relief appearances in 2009.
Joe Saunders, the starter for L.A, is 4-1 with a 4.61 ERA in seven career starts against the Mariners. Last season, en route to a career-best 17 wins, Saunders went 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA versus Seattle. He is 8-1 with a 2.15 ERA in 11 career April starts and 3-0 at Safeco Field so far this season.
Seattle's last seven-game winning streak was June 23-July 1, 2007, when it won eight in a row.
