Porcello has won his last four starts while posting a 1.13 ERA, allowing three runs over 24 innings. Another win today would make Porcello the first major leaguer 20 years old or younger to win five consecutive starts since Dwight Gooden in 1985.
Detroit opened this series tallying 19 hits in a 13-1 victory Monday, but it was held to six hits for the third time in four games Tuesday.
The Tigers have dropped three of four after a season-high seven-game winning streak, scoring five runs and hitting .191 in the three losses.
Kansas City, which is winless in its last five series, will try to snap that streak when it hands the ball to Kyle Davies. Davies has lost his last four starts against the -120 favored Tigers. Get your MLB baseball odds now.
