The -180 favored Los Angeles Angels hope Ervin Santana can win his fifth straight start and continue his dominance against the Oakland Athletics tonight.

Santana has posted a 3.33 ERA in winning his last four starts. In his last outing, the righthander allowed three runs in six innings of a 7-3 victory over Toronto on Saturday. He has been outstanding against the A’s, going 6-0 with an 0.96 ERA in his last eight starts and 10-1 with a 1.36 ERA in 14 career outings.

The Athletics will counter with Trevor Cahill, who has lost his last four decisions since July 22. The rookie righthander has settled down over his last two outings, though, allowing two runs in each contest after posting a 7.71 ERA in losing his previous four starts.

Oakland has been giving its pitchers little support, losing seven of 11 and scoring three runs or fewer in 10 of those contests.
