Prince Fielder need to provide more offense to avoid being swept by the Reds

Hot-hitting Felipe Lopez may miss his second straight game this afternoon as the Milwaukee Brewers try to avoid being swept in a three-game series by the Cincinnati Reds for the first time in more than six years.

Lopez is hitting .360 with 10 doubles and 22 runs in 34 games since being acquired in a July 19 trade with Arizona. He has 19 RBI during that span despite hitting leadoff.

If he does not play today, it certainly improves the odds for Cincinnati. The +140 underdog Reds have won three straight after losing seven of their previous eight, and can match their longest winning streak of the season with a win today.

They will next send former Brewers reliever Justin Lehr to the mound. This will be Lehr’s first appearance against the Brewers.

Milwaukee will counter with Dave Bush, who is coming back from a stint on the disabled list due to elbow soreness.
