Coming off a weekend sweep of the Detroit Tigers, the New York Yankees look to continue their home dominance of the Baltimore Orioles in the opener of a three-game series tonight.

The Yankees outscored Detroit 9-5 over the weekend and have pulled to within one game of the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox.

New York, 29-16 at Yankee Stadium, should welcome the Orioles with open arms after outscoring them 27-9 during a three-game sweep in May.

The -200 favored Yankees have won seven in a row over Baltimore in the Bronx, and are 6-3 versus the Orioles overall in 2009.

After going 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA against the Orioles in 2008, Andy Pettitte faces them for the first time this season.

The Yankees get their first look at Baltimore rookie David Hernandez, who is making his sixth start of the season.
