How is this for timing? On the same night of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates open a three-game interleague series.

A meeting between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins back in Detroit will likely garner most of the attention for each city tonight as the Tigers will try to pad their AL Central lead against baseball's worst team in interleague play.

Detroit is 10-8 all-time versus the Pirates and the Tigers took two of three at PNC Park in 2006.

MLB odds have the Tigers listed as -140 favorites. And that should be a good bet to win again since the Pirates are a major league-worst 64-105 against AL foes in the regular season.

The Pirates' Ian Snell will be gunning for his first win in eight weeks.

Detroit counters with rookie Rick Porcello, who looks to break out of his little funk.
