Grade A+: Despite the distraction of a 50-game doping suspension for Manny Ramirez, the Los Angeles Dodgers own the best record at the All-Star Game mid-season break. They are listed at +500 to win the World Series.

Grade B+: The San Francisco Giants go into the break with the second-best record in the National League. It is too bad they are in the same division as the Dodgers.

Grade B-: The Colorado Rockies will begin the second half of the season Thursday at San Diego just two games behind San Francisco in the National League Wild Card chase.

Grade C-: The Arizona Diamondbacks won seven of nine going into the break and were 5-2 on their latest homestand. Can they keep that up during the second half of the season?

Grade D-: About the only good news for the San Diego Padres heading into the break is that they snapped a seven-game losing streak on Sunday.
