The Los Angeles Angels finished the 2008 MLB season with the best record in baseball at 100-62 (22.21 units). For their trouble, they get to face the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series. The Red Sox won the AL Wild Card at 95-67 (11.65 units), and they have the best run differential in the league at +151.

The Angels outscored their opponents by just 68 runs, but they won a lot of nailbiters thanks to closer Francisco Rodriguez (2.28 ERA, 62 saves) and the rest of the bullpen. The Halos also have Mark Teixeira, who posted a 1.077 OPS in 53 games after coming over from Atlanta.

Los Angeles split their wins 50-50 home and away. The Red Sox were just 39-42 on the road this year. The Angels have home-field advantage, so they’re my pick in a short best-of-five series. Get all your MLB Baseball Lines in the Bodog Sportsbook today!
