With both teams coming off sweeps, the San Francisco Giants look to shut down a red-hot Los Angeles Angels lineup in the opener of a three-game interleague series tonight.
The Giants have won 14 of their last 19, posting a 2.60 ERA during that span.
Pitching has been a strength for San Francisco all season, but it's finally starting to get some production at the plate which is great for a team that is last in the majors with 34 home runs.
Los Angeles has been slightly better in that category, connecting 53 times. The Angels hit nine homers and averaged 8.7 runs in sweeping a three-game series from San Diego.
The Angels, who MLB Odds have listed as -120 favorites, will now face San Francisco's Barry Zito, who has had trouble keeping the ball in the park in the past.
Los Angeles will counter with John Lackey, who was terrible in his last start, allowing nine runs and 11 hits.
