The Tampa Bay Rays head into their first postseason as a bit of a mystery for bettors. They are one of the favorites to win the World Series (+350) but because of their lack of playoff experience they are thought of by many as an underdog. So which is it?

The surprising AL East champions won 97 games, finished as the best money team in baseball (27.96 units) and proved everyone wrong about a small market team beating the likes of the Red Sox and Yankees.

So are they a good bet now that October is here?

Well it is hard to ignore how the Rays fought off Boston in the last three weeks of the season by winning four of six meetings between the teams. That fighter's mentality is what the Rays feel is the mark of a club capable of making a deep run.
