If you are going to be betting on MLB playoff baseball this year, there is only one place to start when looking at favorites.

The New York Yankees are listed at +180 to win the World Series and there are plenty of reasons to think that they will.

Their last game of the season was only a preview of what fans could expect when things get underway this week.

Alex Rodriguez capped an impressive season with two home runs and seven RBI in one inning for a major league record, while Joba Chamberlain showed a glimpse of his old potential out of the bullpen and could be a useful asset as a reliever in the first round.

CC Sabathia, A-Rod, Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera are set up perfectly to face a tired Twins or Tigers team at Yankee Stadium.

Thanks to the Yankees' strong finish, they are a great bet to go far this October.
