They’re going into their second century without a World Series victory parade; the Cubs were swept aside 3-0 by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. The Dodgers have been on a hot streak for a while now, while Chicago went ice cold in just about every aspect of the sport. L.A. was the underdog in all three games. The kicker: Kosuke Fukudome was 1-for-2 as a pinch hitter in Game 3, giving him as many hits during the series as Alfonso Soriano.

In the other NLDS, the Milwaukee Brewers had only one masterful pitching performance – and it wasn’t from CC Sabathia. He gave up all five runs in Milwaukee’s Game 2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies; Dave Bush (5.1 IP, one run) kept hope alive until Philadelphia closed out the series in four games.
