MLB Report: Ivan Rodriguez to Stay With Detroit

It looks like Pudge was worth the money.
The Detroit Tigers exercised a $13 million option on Ivan Rodriguez Tuesday, keeping the All-Star catcher at Comerica Park for at least one more season.
The Tigers could have bought Rodriguez out of the last year of his deal for $3 million, but they didn't like the prospect of not having him behind the plate next year. The Tigers hope to bring back free agent starter Kenny Rogers and closer Todd Jones. They also want to add a shortstop and perhaps a left fielder, preferably a left-handed batter, via free agency or trade.
MLB action gets back underway Thursday as the Colorado Rockies (+114) take on the Arizona Diamondbacks (-124) in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series!
