It’s virtually impossible right now to talk about baseball without steroids creeping into the conversation, even with the World Baseball Classic going on and spring training underway. (AP Images)

It is more about who is not on the field or with a Major League team, meaning A-Rod and Barry Bonds.

The Bonds trial is in the news pretty much all the time, and this is for a player who can't seem to find a team willing to risk having him in the lineup and in the clubhouse,

As for Rodriguez, the third baseman underwent arthroscopic surgery on Monday for torn cartilage in his right hip, and doctors said they found nothing that would keep him from returning to the lineup in May.

Now the only rumblings seem to be when fantasy owners will choose A-Rod in their upcoming drafts. The soap opera should fire up again once Rodriguez is back on the field for the New York Yankees.
