The New York Mets (86-69, -1.93 units) would make the playoffs if the season ended right now; the Milwaukee Brewers (85-71, 3.53 units) are 1.5 games back with six games left to play.

There’s a third team in this mix – the Philadelphia Phillies (87-68, 3.33 units) have a 1.5-game lead on the Mets for the NL East division crown. All three of these teams finish out the season at home. The Phillies play the Braves and Nationals. The Mets have seven games left, but they have to play four of them against the Cubs before welcoming Florida. Milwaukee gets three games versus the Pirates before facing the Cubs.

The Mets have the toughest row to hoe, but they’re 7-2 to win the NL pennant; the Phillies are 3-1, while the Brewers are 12-1. Either of those teams would be better value than New York at this point.
