Two-time heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman likes mixed martial arts more than the sport he used to rule.
In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Foreman admits he prefers MMA over boxing. "If they had had that back when I was coming up, in 1966," he says, "it would have been my sport. Man, I love it. And you know what? Nobody would have pulled the rope-a-dope on me."
Foreman lost his heavyweight title to Muhammad Ali in 1974 in the infamous "rope-a-dope" match, during which Ali lay on the ropes, allowing Foreman to punch himself into exhaustion. Foreman won the title back over 20 years later, just shy of of his 46th birthday.
By way of comparison, UFC heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture (15-8-0) will be 44 when he defends his title against Gabriel "Napao" Gonzaga (8-1-0) on Aug. 25.
