The spotlight will be on reigning MVP LeBron James and the Boston Celtics’ Big Three in the NBA’s season opener tonight as the Cleveland Cavaliers seek a 12th straight home win over the Celtics.
NBA basketball betting odds have the Cavs listed as 4.5-point home favorites.
The Cavaliers signed free agent swingmen Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon while Boston added similar versatility in Marquis Daniels. The biggest changes, though, came at center.
Cleveland sent Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to Phoenix for three-time finals MVP Shaquille O’Neal, while the Celtics signed Rasheed Wallace.
Wallace likely will join Daniels on Boston’s second unit along with Eddie House, Glen Davis, and Shelden Williams.
The Cavaliers have won 11 straight at home over Boston by an average of 12.8 points, with their last loss coming in overtime on Dec. 18, 2004.
Overall, the home team has won 16 consecutive games in the series.
