If Phoenix can get production like this from its secondary players, the Suns might actually go the distance come playoff time.

Shawn Marion scored 27 points, some guy named Marcus Banks dropped 23, Grant Hill added 20 and the Suns lit up the Denver Nuggets with 20 three-pointers in a 137-115 rout Monday night. Phoenix easily covered the point spread, which was 7.5, and helped send the betting total way over 228.

The Suns’ 20 treys were one short of the NBA record, set by Toronto in 2005. Banks was 7-for-8 from beyond the arc and Marion hit five threes among his 11 made field goals to go along with 14 rebounds.

In the other NBA game on Monday:

Golden State 130, San Antonio 121: Stephen Jackson led the Warriors in overtime, when they outscored the Spurs 18-9. Golden State covered the 1.5-point spread at home.
