With only the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers left in the NBA playoffs other squads on the outside looking in have been doing some head coach shopping.
The Phoenix Suns, reeling from the loss of Mike D'Antoni to the New York Knicks, have snatched up Detroit Pistons assistant Terry Porter.
The Pistons made a surprising move in firing head coach Flip Saunders, only to replace him with his inexperienced assistant and former NBA pro Michael Curry. Curry signed a three-year deal worth $2.5 million per season.
With Doug Collins pulling out of the Chicago coaching sweepstakes the Bulls have set their sites on Suns assistant general manager and former San Antonio Spur Vinny Del Negro. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a deal should be finalized this week.
