Various NBA sources have told ESPN.com that two struggling teams in the East – New Jersey and Milwaukee – have swapped players.
Marc Stein reports that The New Jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of a trade that will send Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for forwards Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons.
Jefferson is coming off a career year that saw him average 22.7 points per game – playing in all 82 after an injury-ravaged 2006-07 campaign.
Jianlian was the sixth overall pick in last year's draft but never seemed comfortable in Milwaukee. Chinese basketball officials and Yi's agent were both displeased with him playing with the small-market Bucks. The move to New Jersey gets him one step closer to New York, we suppose.
