The North Carolina Tar Heels (27-3 SU, 11-17 ATS) made it back to No. 1 in the college basketball poll at the very end of the regular season, reclaiming the honor they held through the first seven weeks. Sunday’s 79-71 victory over Duke (+8.5) was enough for the AP writers to give the Tar Heels the nod over the No. 2 Pittsburgh Panthers (28-3 SU, 16-8-1 ATS) and the No. 3 Connecticut Huskies (27-3 SU, 11-13 ATS).

Pittsburgh vaulted into the second spot by beating former No. 1 Connecticut 70-60 on Saturday as a 4.5-point home chalk. The Panthers fell just short of UNC for first in the AP voting; the coaches poll, on the other hand, has Roy Williams’ Heels as the clear No. 1, with John Calipari’s Memphis Tigers (28-3 SU, 20-10 ATS) checking in at No. 3, one spot ahead of UConn.
