Mike Anderson coached UAB to the Sweet 16 in 2004 and reached the second round with the Blazers the next season.
DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons could help Anderson head back to the regional semifinals this season. First up, though, they need to get past the Cornell Big Red in the opening round on Friday.
Cornell lacks athletes, but the Big Red have some good 3-point shooters. If any combination of Ryan Wittman, Dale Reeves, and Chris Wroblewski is hot from the outside, the Big Red should be able to hang around for a while.
The Tigers are at their best when they can run on offense and unleash their pressure defense, which forces almost 20 turnovers per game. The Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games.
