No Larry Johnson. That’s the headline in Kansas City for this contest between AFC West rivals.
The Chiefs have won the last nine meetings, an impressive streak that they want to push into double digits with a home win. K.C. lost to Indianapolis 13-10 last week in Brodie Croyle’s first start at quarterback.
Although they lost, the Chiefs claimed a moral victory by hanging tough with the Super Bowl champs. They should fare better at home and against the woeful Raiders. Johnson will be out for his third straight game, leaving the running chores to rookies Kolby Smith and Gilbert Harris.
They could have success against an Oakland team that surrendered 164 rushing yards and three touchdowns to the Vikings’ Chester Taylor last Sunday. The Raiders have lost six straight.
K.C. is favored by six against the point spread and the betting total is 34.5.
