To say that the Tennessee Titans have a lot to overcome when they face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday would be an understatement.

Tennessee's starting tight end Bo Scaife is out for the remainder of the season with a lacerated spleen. Starting receiver Roydell Williams is out for the season with a broken ankle. Starting center Kevin Mawae is doubtful with a bad hamstring. Starting running back LenDale White is nursing a bad knee. Starting defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is still slowed by a bad hamstring. And starting quarterback Vince Young is ailing from a bad quad.

"It's a challenge," Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said in his Thursday practice report. "We've got a number of starters that we started the season with that are out. You just move on. You have younger players that have to step up and take advantage of the opportunities."

Oddsmakers aren't as confident the Titans can overcome all their weaknesses, they've opened the 10-6 squad as 10-point underdogs in the contest. Even Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman has more confidence in the Titans than them.

"I didn't know they were underdogs," Merriman explained. "This is the first time I've heard it. I thought it was a close enough game (a 23-17 win) that they wouldn't come in and be the underdogs. I think it's going to be a good game."
