With just over four minutes to go the Rams had a 16-3 lead on the 49ers, whose offense had been running in place all game. Then Hill hooked up with Isaac Bruce to cut the lead to 16-10. After the 49ers got the ball back again Hill led them down the field and hooked up with Josh Morgan on a 48-yard TD pass. Final score – San Francisco 17, St. Louis 16.

The Redskins put together their own impressive victory in Week 16, but it had nothing to do with their offense. Washington clipped Philadelphia 10-3 and found a way to shut down an Eagles offense that had scored 98 points in the last three games. The Redskins’ D came up huge on the final play of the game, stopping receiver Reggie Brown at the one-yard line on what would have been the game-tying score for Philly.
