There’s more than just pride on the line when the Cleveland Browns (4-11 SU, 6-8-1 ATS) face the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4 SU, 8-7 ATS) Sunday at Heinz Field. People’s jobs are on the line.
The Steelers (-10.5 favorites on Sunday) are fine; they’ll be the No. 2 playoff seed in the AFC, and they only need to recuperate after getting beaten up by the Tennessee Titans last week. The Browns, on the other hand, are in disarray. Both GM Phil Savage and coach Romeo Crennel could be out the door this offseason – along with several of their players.
Then there’s Bruce Gradkowski. The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that Gradkowski was “likely” to start in place of QB Ken Dorsey (concussion, rib). This is a golden opportunity for the former Toledo Rocket and Tampa Bay Buccaneer to make an impression and improve his chances at gainful employment in 2009.
