    In an extremely surprising move, the Eagles have franchised oft-injuted tight end L.J. Smith for the 2008-09 season.

    Smith missed most of last season with various injuries, and struggled for the short time he returned. Smith will make $4.522 million next year.

  • Jake Delhomme, Carolina PanthersAccording to ESPN.com, Delhomme has thrown 20 ten-yard passes each morning this week and hasn't experienced any pain. Delhomme is coming off elbow surgery.
  • Washington RedskinsAccording to Profootballtalk.com, Redskins owner Dan Snyder is currently on his way to Jim Fassel's house in Glendale, Arizona.
