"The Freak" has returned to Nashville.
After being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, Jevon Kearse has signed a two-year $6 million deal with the Titans, the team that drafted him in 1999.
"It helps us as a football team to fill a need," head coach Jeff Fisher said at Thursday's Titans press conference. "Obviously in the last few days, we’ve lost two quality players, and we felt like all along that we’d have an opportunity to fill that hole with Jevon [Kearse]."
"I just need to point out, not only is this an opportunity to finish where he started, but he also has a lot left."
Kearse was with the Titans between 1999 and 2004 and recorded 47.5 sacks and made the Pro Bowl three times before moving to Philly in 2004. However, he never lived up to his play in Tennessee as an Eagle.
"It was like I was lost for a minute. I was away from home," Kearse said. "This is my home, so I took a vacation or something. But my stay in Philly, it was different."
