Defensive stoppers may not get the media’s attention as much as the offensive stars but then again, defense wins championships.

When looking at the board to see who is favored to win AP Defensive Rookie of the Year, Aaron Curry tops everyone at +450.

The Seahawks' rookie, drafted No. 4 overall, already has some lofty expectations set on him. Seattle is looking for big-superstar-type things from Curry. Makes sense since they have handed him a contract with $34 million guaranteed. They've also given him the job that used to be Julian Peterson's, until Seattle traded the Pro Bowler to Detroit before the draft.

If Curry does not live up to the hype or gets injured (he currently has a sore groin), Tyson Jackson (+700) of the Chiefs and B.J. Raji (+700) of the Packers will be ready to cash in.

But if Curry’s first preseason game was any indication, this kid is ready to dominate.
