The Wade Phillips era in Dallas began with a bang.

Tony Romo threw for a career-high 345 yards and four touchdowns – running for another – while Marion Barber added one of his own in an impressive offensive outing for the Cowboys. The 45 points were the most scored by any one team in Week 1, but the Dallas defense let much to be desired by allowing 35 points and over 400 yards to the Brandon Jacobs-less Giants.

With their starting RB out due to a knee sprain, the Giants were paced by the dynamic duo of Eli Manning and Plaxico Burress. Manning went 28-for-41 for 213 yards and four TDs, three of which went to Burress. The two lit up a suspect Cowboys' secondary that will need to make adjustments if they want to prevent from getting burned through the air in future weeks.

The Cowboys covered the -7 posted in the Bodog Sportsbook, and the point total soared over the 45 listed prior to the game.
