Maybe this was the NFL Network’s idea. Ratings should be peaking for Thursday night’s matchup between the Denver Broncos (+3, even) and the Cleveland Browns. This will be the long-awaited first NFL start for Brady Quinn, the incredibly popular quarterback from Notre Dame.

Quinn finished his college career with two brilliant seasons in South Bend. He threw 69 TD passes and just 14 picks during those two years, winning the Maxwell Award as a senior. The Browns were lucky to draft Quinn at No. 22 overall; he should be an instant improvement over Derek Anderson (68.9 passer rating).

Not that Anderson was the main problem with the Browns – look at Cleveland’s awful defense instead. This is a great opportunity for Denver QB Jay Cutler (86.9 passer rating) to get his learning curve back on track after a pair of poor outings. The Broncos are 0-6 ATS in their last six.
