Planning on getting some action in on this week's football betting lines? Before you do anything, get a load of all the big names that are hurting heading into Week 12, which starts with a three-game slate on Thanksgiving:
Tony Romo, QB, and Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys: Romo hurt his back in Sunday's win against the Redskins, while Witten sprained his left foot. Romo is fully expected to start Thursday's game against the Raiders, while Witten will be a game-time decision with the quick turnaround. Romo has thrown more passes to Witten (71) than to any other receiver. Dallas is a 14-point favorite on Bodog's NFL odds, and there will be live betting available.
Matthew Stafford, QB, and Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions: The team's two best offensive players are doubtful for Thursday's game with Green Bay. Stafford injured his shoulder in Sunday’s game with Cleveland but managed to rally Detroit to a victory and set an NFL rookie passing record with 422 yards against the Browns and also became the youngest player to throw five touchdowns in a game at age 21. Johnson injured his left knee in the first quarter but played through it. Both will be game-time decisions – thus there is no line yet on Bodog's NFL odds for this one; there will be live betting on this game as well.
Ben Roethlisberger, QB, and Troy Polamalu, S, Pittsburgh Steelers: Big Ben is expected to play in Sunday's key game with the Ravens after suffering a concussion-like injury in a loss to the Chiefs. However, his backup, Charlie Batch is out 2-4 weeks with a broken wrist, meaning unproven Dennis Dixon is now the No. 2 QB. As for Polamalu, he is "questionable at best" to play according to Coach Mike Tomlin. Polamalu missed the Chiefs game with a sprained MCL. There is no line yet for this game on Bodog's NFL odds.
Kurt Warner, QB, Arizona Cardinals: The Cards are optimistic that Warner will play after Warner suffered a head injury in Sunday's win over the Rams. However, Warner must pass neurological tests and go without concussion symptoms for a few days before he will be cleared – thus that may not happen until as late as game day. Matt Leinart would start if Warner can't go against the Titans. Because of Warner's status, there is no line yet for the game on Bodog's NFL odds.
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, New York Giants: Bradshaw is out for Thursday night's game against the Broncos because of a foot injury. He won't even make the trip to Denver. Running back Brandon Jacobs, who will get a bigger workload with Bradshaw out, will play after suffering a leg injury against the Falcons on Sunday. New York is a 7-point favorite over sliding Denver on Bodog's NFL odds – there will be live football betting on this game.
Michael Turner, RB, Atlanta Falcons: Turner didn’t play in Sunday's loss to the Giants and is in doubt for this week's game with Tampa Bay because of a sprained ankle. Jason Snelling, who had 89 total yards and TDs against the Giants, would start again if Turner can’t go. Atlanta is -13 on Bodog's NFL odds.
Kyle Orton, QB, Denver Broncos: Orton didn't start Sunday's loss against the Chargers because of a sprained ankle but did replace an ineffective Chris Simms and is likely to start Thursday night's game with the Giants. The Broncos, who have dropped four in a row (0-4 ATS), are 7-point home dogs on Bodog's NFL odds.
Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts, RBs, Washington Redskins: Neither Portis nor Betts will play this week against the Eagles. Portis sat out Sunday's loss to Dallas with a concussion and hopes to get back in Week 13. Betts is done for the season after tearing up his knee against the Cowboys. Rock Cartwright will start this week. Washington is +9.5 at Philly on Bodog's NFL odds.
Cedric Benson, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Benson sat out Sunday's loss to the Raiders and "might" play this week against Cleveland with a hip injury. It's likely that Bernard Scott starts again. The Bengals are -14 on Bodog's NFL odds.
