Self-inflicted mistakes have cost the team, resulting in a 3-3 record despite Drew Brees putting up MVP numbers.

The Saints cannot afford any more of those errors when they play at NFC South Division foe Carolina on Sunday. The 3-point favored Panthers head into this week hungry to get back on track after a disappointing loss to the Buccaneers where they could not get anything going on offense. Steve Smith was Carolina’s only offensive player who put up any type of numbers as he had six receptions for 112 yards.

New Orleans could be getting Marques Colston back from injury this week, giving Brees his number one target again. That should help the Saints as they try for their seventh straight against-the-spread win in Carolina on Sunday.
