And like that, the New Jersey Devils are in first place.
The Devils notched their ninth straight win Friday night by edging the Washington Capitals, 3-2, at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Former Capital Dainius Zubrus scored a power-play goal and Martin Brodeur made 22 saves as the Devils moved into a three-way tie atop the Atlantic Division.
New Jersey paid -200 on the puckline (meaning a winning hockey bet of $200 would net $100). The betting total was a push.
The Devils are now 8-4 in their new home and have gelled under new coach Brent Sutter. They’re tied with the Flyers and Rangers for first in the division.
