In only his third season, Henrik Lundqvist is already making a run at being the best goaltender to wear a Broadway Blueshirt. Sure, he’s got a long way to go to top Mike Richter, but Lundqvist is definitely off to the best start of any New York goalie in recent memory.
On Tuesday night, Lundqvist stoned the potent Pittsburgh Penguins, stopping 18 shots in a 4-0 shutout at Madison Square Garden. It was the Swede’s sixth shutout of the season and 13th of his career.
The Rangers paid -145 on the puckline (meaning a winning hockey bet of $145 would net $100) and the betting total was under 5.5 goals.
Scott Gomez, reunited with Jaromir Jagr, had a goal and an assist. Jagr assisted on the Gomez goal.
