With New Year's Day approaching, it's not surprising there's plenty of attention surrounding the matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings in the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field.

First, however, the Blackhawks will try to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 10 games tonight as they meet the defending Stanley Cup champions in the opener of a home-and-home series at Joe Louis Arena.

The Blackhawks' 10-0-1 surge this month has moved them to within four points of the Central Division-leading Red Wings with two games in hand, adding to Winter Classic hype.

Chicago is among the highest-scoring clubs in the league with 123 goals – five fewer than the Red Wings – and has averaged 4.44 during its winning streak.

Detroit has won three straight and eight of its last nine at home, but is coming off back-to-back road losses.

Whether your looking to bet on last year's Stanley Cup winners or think the Blackhawks will keep their streak alive, the Bodog online sportsbook has all of your NHL odds.
