NHL Hockey Odds: Craziest Odds to Win Stanley Cup

It’s true that anything can happen in the NHL. Who would have picked the Tampa Bay Lightning to win the Stanley Cup five years ago? But you’d have to be pretty crazy to pick them now at 200-1 odds, right?

You could make the argument that the 15-21-10 Lightning are actually a value pick, that they’d win the Cup in this situation more than once every 200 years. After all, Tampa Bay is only 11 points out of a playoff spot, and once you get in… again, anything can happen.

In that case, how about the New York Islanders at 900-1? So what if they’re in last place in the league and No. 1 goalie Rick DiPietro (knee) is out for the season? Surely a team like this would go from worst to first more than once every nine centuries. I just hope I’m still around when it actually happens.
