The Detroit Red Wings are one of the most solid moneyline bets in the NHL at 30-7-6. But they sure aren’t making it easy for themselves this year. Detroit (-180) had to score twice in the third period Wednesday night to beat Anaheim 4-3; Chris Osgood (.885 save percentage) has given up at least three goals in five of his last seven starts.

The surprisingly good news for Wings fans is that this means Ty Conklin (.919 SV%) is the likely candidate to start Thursday night against the 17-19-6 Los Angeles Kings. The two goalies have been splitting duties in the Detroit crease as Osgood recovers from a groin injury. But either man would probably get the job done against a Kings team that is No. 27 in the NHL in scoring with 2.43 goals per game. The Red Wings lead the league at 3.62 goals per game.
