It does not really matter where the saplay these days because they are leaving little doubt that they are the league's best team. (AI Wire Image)

They do, however, have something to prove tonight on home ice. The Red Wings will try to erase the memory of blowing a three-goal, third-period lead last week to Pittsburgh when they face the Edmonton Oilers. Detroit was 3-1-1 at home heading into its last game at Joe Louis Arena, but ended up losing 7-6 to the Penguins in overtime.

Edmonton has the second most road wins in the league behind Detroit, but that's partly because they have spent most of the first six weeks of the season away from home.

Four of the last six meetings between the teams have ended 4-3 in a shootout – with the Oilers winning each time. Dwayne Roloson was in net for three of those victories. Get your NHL betting in the Bodog Sportsbook.
