What a way to spend New Year's Eve in the province of Alberta. The latest installment of the "Battle of Alberta" will take place at the Pengrowth Saddledome, where the surging Calgary Flames meet the Edmonton Oilers in the final game of the calendar year.

Calgary is looking for its fourth straight win and sixth in seven games, while the Oliers are coming off a 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

Miikka Kiprusoff leads the league with 21 wins, although he's yet to beat Edmonton in two tries this season. The Flames goalie has won six of his last seven road starts, posting a 2.12 GAA.

In 14 starts against the Flames in his career Dwayne Roloson has a 2.47 GAA, but is 3-8-0 with three ties.

Andrew Cogliano has only 10 goals in 35 games this season, but has found the back of the net once in each game against the Flames.
