NHL Odds: Columbus Blue Jackets at New York Islanders

On Monday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets will be performing in front of an even smaller crowd than usual – at the very old Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the New York Islanders play to a league-low 13,528 paid customers per night.
It’s fitting that these are also two of the worst teams in the NHL. The Jackets are last in the Central Division at 4-6-1; the Islanders are in the Atlantic basement at 2-7-1. New York also has to spend the next 4-6 weeks without No. 1 goalie Rick DiPietro (knee). Montreal cast-off Yann Danis (.897 career save percentage) and Pictou’s own Joey MacDonald (.895) are the backups on Long Island.
Columbus has had its own problems without top netminder Pascal Leclaire (.919 last year). Fredrik Norrena (.847) has been awful in relief. The over is on a 7-3 run for each of these two wayward teams.
