It looked like this game had potential to be a nail biter early, but the Tarheels were too athletic to contain as they ran over the Cougars 68-47.

Washington State did a good job in containing All-American forward Tyler Hansbrough in the first half, holding him to just two points. But junior guard Danny Green was able to shoulder the load, scoring 12 of his 15 points on the night in the first. Hansbrough picked up the slack in the second however, and finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.

The game was close for the first 12 minutes, but the Tarheels went on a 20-7 run before halftime and never looked back.

The Cougars struggled from the field all night making only 32 percent of their shots. Center Aaron Barnes was the most effecient Cougar with 14 points and eight rebounds off 6-8 shooting.

Oddsmakers underestimated the Tarheels in this one as they destroyed the seven-point spread in the Bodog Sportsbook.
