What a difference a couple of rounds of 60s can make.

K.J. Choi entered the Sony Open with PGA odds of 22/1 to win the Honolulu tournament. He followed an opening-round 64 with a 5-under-par 65 on Friday to hold a two-shot lead at the Waialae Country Club. Now Choi is the betting favorite going into the third round. At 11-under 129, Choi is now 9/2 to take the title.

He’s ahead of Kevin Na, who shot a 64, and Stephen Marino, who shot a second-round 67 and is three strokes back. Fred Funk tied Na for the lowest score on Friday with a birdie-eagle finish.

Neither Tiger Woods nor Phil Mickelson is playing in the tournament.
