The good news for Jeff Maggert is the forecast for Saturday is sunshine and temperatures in the low 60s.

The bad news? He’s still got 27 holes to play to be on schedule for Sunday’s close of the PODS Championship, a golf tournament Maggert leads by three strokes.

The PGA veteran birdied three of the nine holes he played during the second round on Friday and stands at 8-under par in Palm Harbor, Fla., which looked like it could host the British Open by the amount of wind and sand that was whipping around.

Play was stopped because of the inclement weather, forcing Maggert and several other golfers off the course midway through their rounds.

"I've only played 27 holes," Maggert told reporters after making it to the clubhouse. "I've got a lot of the tournament in front of me. Even though I have the lead now, I'm not really looking at my position. I'm just trying to play solid and give myself an opportunity to finish off this round with a good score."

He leads Kenny Perry and D.J. Trahan by three strokes heading into Saturday’s play, which will include the third round and the completion of the second round.
