The U.S. Open is the only major Tiger Woods has failed to win in consecutive years, and a victory this week would make him only the seventh player to win back-to-back. Having won at Bethpage Black in 2002, he will try to join Willie Anderson as the only players to defend a U.S. Open on a course where they were the most recent champion.

Add to that Woods' 65 in the final round to win the Memorial two weeks ago, and he is an overwhelming +150 favorite to win.

Who could step up and challenge Woods this week?

The long-hitting Angel Cabrera (+5000) has been grouped with Woods and British Open champion Padraig Harrington (+2800) for the first two rounds at Bethpage Black.

Sergio Garcia (+4000), Vijay Singh (+4000) and Adam Scott (+8000) are far from their best entering the second major of the year.

Then you have the sentimental favorite in Phil Mickelson (+1000).
